Hi
No, some private landlords don't do credit checks (it costs money to subscribe to the database) however all letting agents (that I've come across) do
So you need to find yourself a landlord who manages their own property without involving letting agents.

some letting agency's/LL will accept BR's, it usually takes the normal costs plus six months up front, and sometimes a guarentour to boot.
BR makes it harder to rent through an agency, but not impossible.
The only downside is wasting the credit search costs if you get turned down:mad:Thats it, i am done, Blind-as-a-Bat has left the forum, for good this time, there is no way I can recover this account, as the password was random, and not recorded, and the email used no longer exits, nor can be recovered to recover the account, goodbye all ………….

We are still in our three year BR and had a tough time getting a private lease due to our situation.
However we were totally honest and up front with our landlord and as long as we showed him ou rproof of income and that we could pay the rent he was fine.
We also showed him a letter from our Trustee which said we could afford the monthly payment for rent.
I think honesty is the best policy from the word go.
