i have my own wedding jewellery site (i'm not plugging it btw so no links,I'm just after some advice) and I want to put a blog on it but not sure where to start.
What topics would you be interested in? anything you wish you could have found more info on but couldn't? I don't want to write any old thing just for the hell of it I want it to be helpful! Thanks for any suggestions/advice any of you brides2b can give.

I've started my own blog related to my dressmaking. (like I don't have enough to do) I like to add everthing I can about fashion, weddings, colours and fabrics.
I think it is interesting to talk about jewellery. Why you chose certain things, what's in and what's not. Where you see yourself in the current market. Things like how you source suppliers and stuff like that.
I love doing mine. Just covered an intersting topic. Copyright!!0 -
Lol Linda- it's ok I won't copy yours, although I will read it later. Thanks for your help, I was a bit worried about posting as I thought people might think I was touting for business (oo-er missus!)but I just need some ideas.0

I read a lot of blogs (and blog myself) including some run by small businesses. What makes me come back and read them is obviously I like their product(s) but also reading about their inspiration, bit of background about them. I read one by jeweller Abigail Percy and it's lovely, not just about her jewellery. If a blog just reads like a series of sales pitches I'm not interested.Got married 23rd May 2009, many thanks to all on the Weddings and Anniversaries board for their help and support!

I think a blog needs to be about the person, what motivates them etc. Lol, moneymabel, copyright as in knock-offs. I talk a looad of dribble at times so wouldn't think anyone would want to copy me!!0

Thanks Mrschazzer-I've had a look at that blog-it's brilliant, ended up reading all of it and her hubby makes some great stuff too!
Hi Linda...don't worry I can't sew any better than I can write lmao!0 -
Hi Mabel
I use blogspot.com for my blog and will have a link to it from my website (when the shiny new one is up and running). Sometimes I talk a load of drivel too but things will change as I do more things - I have read Linda's blog and its good:cool:
I talk about venues, what happens to me during the day (its not all weddings either LOL) as I think that if you concentrate too much on one thing then your personality doesnt come out and it looks like a sales pitch.
Good luck with blogging...I am still a virgin having only started my blog at the weekend.0 -
I think that's what so good, Horace. Allowing your personality to come through.
(I am enjoying yours.)0 -
