Mortgages - names on deeds etc

Hi,

Just wondering if someone can help me.

My boyfriend and I are buying a flat - we are going on his wages along and applying for the mortgage in his name as I have some bad credit history (just under 5 years ago but will still effect application!)

Can my name go on the deeds still?

Thanks

A

The lender will require all those named on the deeds to be named on the mortgage.

No, sorry. This used to be possible many years ago, it was called "third party security" as essentially a third party (you) would be putting up the security as owner of the property for a debt that you don't owe (as it is in OH's name).

Unfortunately the level of expertise in banks (and many law firms) has been diluted so far that this is out of the ordinary and therefore something that bank's aren't interested in.
    Happily an ex mortgage broker!

Yes you can. Through HSBC via branch (not phone).
