Mortgages for Foreign Nationals (non-EU)

Hi there.

I am a foreign national (non-EU) working for my own Ltd company. I'm working under a Tier 1 General visa, which is has just been extended for the next 3 years after which I'll qualify for permanent residency.

Can anyone recommend a good mortgage lender/broker for foreign nationals?

Thank you.

In case you hadn't already worked it out - the entire global financial system is predicated on the assumption that you're an idiot:cool:

You can approach any mortgage lender/broker for your mortgage; some (like NatWest) may only agree to a deal that is within the time limit of your visa i.e 3 year fixed deal.
Do not restrict yourself to brokers specialising in international mortgages.

    Hi
I agree with JMK. Being a foriegn non- EU national myself. I have not yet had any major issues in getting a mortgage or a remortgage. As youre in tier 1 my guess is income should not be a problem (as long as you are sensible about multiples). Some lenders though will not lend to anyone without a permanent right of residency...so it's worth speaking to a whole of the market broker to get the best deal and telling them about your visa status up front. Your bank may be more willing to lend to you too. I found my own bank much quicker and more flexible with regard to my visa as I had a long relationship with them...so worth approaching them in branch.

    hope this helps.

    Hi,

Need some advice on which banks are most likely to offer me a mortgage. I've read posts of 20-25% deposits, but unfortunately doesn't apply to me.

I am a non-eu national residing in the UK on a Tier 1 General Migrant Visa. Have 18 months left on my visa and is then eligible for Indefinite Leave to Remain.

I've got a 15% deposit and don't want to negatively influence my credit score by applying (just to be rejected) by banks/building societies based on my visa status.

With my 15%, which banks are most likely (or less likely to reject) to offer me a mortgage?

PS - I am a HSBC customer, but I'm not even going to bother!!

Same advice as above applies. Speak to a good whole of market broker. Its impossible to make a sweeping generalisation and say based on 2 or 3 lines on here that lender a or b will do it. A good broker will do a full factfind and find you the best lender(s) for your circumstances.

    Agree with above.

Forget the specialist tag - as it normally means justifying a higher fee to pay.
