Uniform grants for Primary school ?

Hi, can you get a clothing grant for children in primary school ?,or is it just for high school. Thanks.(south eastern board)

  • Yes you can, we had the letter sent home about it a few weeks ago. I think it was only if you were on mean tested benefits or child tax credit but not working tax credit.

    I have been told that if you get any means tested benefits(i.e Income Support/child tax credits )you may get a Grant,ask your local primary school.Dont forget to get your forms for your free meals also.ASAP,school's are breaking up for the holidays,but staff will be there for any worries etc.

    I read it that if you are entitled to free school meals, you are also entitled to uniform grants. £35 for primary (not nursery).

    no we get nothing like that
  • Neither do we, because my hubby is working, and we get topped up with working tax credits and I get the childrens element means that we don't qualify.
