Moving to London - job hunting

Options
Hi guy wondered if you could give me some tips.

I am looking to move down to London within the next 12 months. I lived in London previously for 20 years before moving back home to Yorkshire, but miss the city.

The first time around it was easier, I was a student, no debt, no wage expectations, but now I am on a DMP (another 4 years) So I need to have a job in place before moving.

How have other people made the move? What northern recruitment agencies are able to place you into London companies. What kind of companies are proactive in moving there staff around the country.

BTW I am a female, 42 and an experienced administrator, mainly in the music and recruitment industries.

Thank you,

Susanna

The place to look for jobs in London is The Times newspaper as they have great jobs pages.

I once tried to get a job in London and registered with some agencies there but they were useless to be honest - they couldn't understand why a person from the sticks would want to work there. Its not to say that I didnt get interviews because I did, but these were for jobs I applied for myself.

London is a very expensive place to live and you may be better off looking at other cities such as Birmingham or Manchester because both areas have a thriving music industry.

Gumtree website can have jobs on there that other sites do not as the adverts are normally free for the employers

Cool we get the Times at work will check that out.

Yes I understand that London is expensive, but I feel so at home there, that would be the sacrifice I would be willing to pay to move back. That is why getting the right job is soo importants

    Thank you
