Transfer of money on completion

I have reently been agreed a mortgage with Abbey which is valid until December 2009. I am porting my existing mortgage which ends 3rd August 2009 and borrowing a small additional amount on their variable rate. We will go onto the variable rate once our fixed rate ends.
Initially we were due to complete last week but a date is now beig put forward for 7th August. My concern is that by this date our fixed rate will have ended. I am worried about there being a problem due to our completion after my fixed rate ends. I may be worrying unneccessarily but just wondered if anyone had any advice.
