With the death of the high street shop, something will have to be done you are right, conversion from retail to commercial and commercial to residential might be the only way to regenerate what will soon start to look run down areas

Property might get a boost too iof they let people buy residential property with their SIPPS, instead of the carve up now where they insist we put the money with pension funds who take their massive commisions from our investments!

(wonder how many mp's are on their boards)
    Im in rant mode tonight!

That's what happened to The Old Kent Road during the late 90's onwards. It all got razed to the ground and was replaced with better road plus drive in Mac D's, Big Tescos etc.

I didnt see that 1ech, I'll have to do a search

This seems to be one of those bright ideas that some little oik in the Treasury had that a more experienced chancellor would have kicked into touch once his advisors had advised him of all the ramifications not just the short term gain

Gain a tenner but lose a hundred

They have done the same thing with company car tax, I have for the past 15 years had leased cars, they put the tax up so much that I have now bought a car and charge expenses, apparently they are seeing a shortfall of billions in their tax take because hundreds of thousands of other company car drivers are doing the same

Is it called the law of diminishing returns? (I might be wrong but you know what I mean)
