House price crash? not where I'm looking....

So any evidence that a house has sold for more than previously is an exception, anything that has sold for less is the rule!
You can't lose.
Judging from published figures indicating substantial drops in house prices in the past 18 months (average) it seems reasonable to describe it as the 'rule'. It is only a figure of speech though. Are you suggesting there are many areas where prices have gone up?0 -

An area near me where the "moving -on" homes have gone up. FTB/ starter homes have dropped, but 3 bed semis/ townhouses etc have been increasing. No doubt at some point there will be a correction and when (even if it is in 10+ years time) the FTB homes start increasing I would expect that the ratios (between first homes and second homes) would return to a normal level.
BTW I'm basing this on sold prices achieved not asking prices or SSTC.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. So where is it ??
ok, bd20 9pz
Ok, if this is the new game:)
WD6 1LH - mixture of flats and houses built 2000-01. All the flats are more or less identical, all the houses are comparable prices a mix of town houses and semis - all the same give or take a conservatory. Flat prices have been gradually increasing with no noitceable drops, same for house prices. Same for houses. If you want a good example, number 20 sold for 250k in 2006 and 335k in 2008.
WD6 Chandos - mainly semis built in the 1980s, occasional detached in there so compare like for like, still showing an increase with no dips.
WD6 4AS - 4 bed toy town detacheds - showing year on year increase with no falls.
Nothing exciting about the area other than good commuter links into London.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. So I am right then - this is just hearsay, based on the evidence of someone who talks up house prices for a living.
Hmm....not sure this needed its own thread. You are entitled to your opinion, but I was genuinly surprised so thought I would comment.
I'd slink away discreetly for 3 months....will do then, bye.
