Nationwide Mortgage Complaint

A newbie here who after the help of you people who appear to care about money and people.

My wife and i have had an ongoing issue with Nationwide trying to claim back some money they apparently credited to us in error in early 2008. They've failed to reply formally to much of our communication. We're now talking to the FSA and Ombudsman for help.

What I need though is any suggestion on how we can get hold of an e-mail address for either Graham Beale the Chief Exec at Nationwide or one of his senior team, so we can Cc them.

Any advice wlecome........please and thank you

    I love this link.

    graham.beale@nationwide.co.uk

(It still says Andy Hornby is running HBOS, so the site isn't perfect, but I think that will do for now!).

Dont email, put it in writing and have it sent be special delivery and private and confidential, cc the letter and make sure you put cc'd at the bottom.

Emails can be lost and are not that official. Sometimes the old fashioned way can be best.

The FOS have published how they deal with claims upon claiming money back paid in error.

Generally, you do have to pay it back unless you realistically expected that money to be yours. Although if you dont have the money, the company should accept it back over a period of time in installments. You may want to do a search on the FOS website in their publications to see the cases they have reviewed and published with this sort of thing.

I ignored the actual issue, sorry, Big D is correct. What if you paid another Nationwide account by mistake in 2008 and they said you can have it?

  • Well, using the e-mail I did send a letter today scanned by e-mail to the recovery team at Nationwide Cc the Head Honcho. I got a response within minutes saying that the exec team were going to investigate. We do have the money available to pay them, but feel out of principle that Nationwide should look inward on how they have handled it. It'll be paid soon I'm sure, but heck, a company of that size making so many errors. Wow, my company would fall over if we ran ourselves like it LOL. ;-)
