What has that go to do with his unrealistic 'lodger' figures.

When I went BR the OR only wanted to confirm from my landlord what type of tenancy agreement I have and if there is any arrears. The OR didn't want to know what the rent was.

Thankyou for that, im still sticking to what my boyfriend and I have agreed which is that he is renting a room from me and I am therefore his landlord and so if the OR did (which I dont think they will cause they are so busy these days) contact me then I can confirm he does.
I am also going to draft a letter up saying he does rent a room from me and its a verbal agreement between friends and there is no tenancy agreement and he can submit that with his forms at the court.

    Thanks again

You can sub-let then can you? check your tenancy agreement, also his "rent" is taxable income...

Anything above £4,250 rent a year would be taxable under the rent a room scheme, so if you do this, in theory you should be paying tax on the balance. You also need to opt into the scheme with HMRC or you are liable for tax on teh whole amount of £6k a year (assuming £500 a month)

Please speak to CAB regarding your SOA and take advice on it - whilst I can understand where you are coming from, your boyfriend has to sign an oath to say that the paperwork is true and correct - false court papers and letters regarding renting a room could lead to lots of hassle for both of you.
