    UnLun, life's just too short.
Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear
  • I am amazed, and overwhelmed actually by the positivity of this support, it is so not what I expected. Thank you.

I confess I know I shall probably go down the BR route now, but I am dragging, or maybe pausing, I am edging forward rather than leaping. It's a whole new scary thing, but I can see the good at the end. And I'm never going to be offered a mortgage anyway with my credit file! Actually I had two kids, both grown now, and I spent their entire time with me saying 'can't afford it'. so that one really rings home. Ok, enough is enough I guess. Thanks

    hi UnLunDunShwazzy

think if you are renting dont own any other property and dont have a big pension lots of savings in bank then br is your best move as long as you have nothing in your lease that says should you go br then its auto eviction.the only thing to be concerned with is the ipa you might be given income payments arrangement, speaking for myself the relief from debt is mega its just a shame i will lose my house and me and the stbx will be splitting as soon as that goes through. Dont give a s- - - about the moral aspect of br millionaires do it and you can bet your a - - they arent totaly skint like some after br.Its cost me my house, relationship and 16yrs of work all down thetoilet because of greedy banks. Lost job added charges upt interest rate found job wanted charging order lost job again added charges interest etc sent letters added more charges lost job etc . A total nightmare.

    good luck to you

    regards

    out of cash
  • Hi guys, just wanted to say this thread made me feel very emotional, like UnLunDunShwazzy I am thinking of BR. Alll my life i have been one to "do" and "think" later. I can honestly say that this is is one decision i cannot seem to Jump in with- due to the hardwork of stuggling to make but making all payments to date, the stigma involved and the loss of independence. You put the pros and cons down very well and the response have all ben very helpful.

I wish you luck in what you decide, please keep me updated on what you do as it would help to know what you decide and how you do it!

    many thanks
  • Thank you out of cash, that sounds like a hard road to travel on, I really hope things get better for you now.

Broke but 4hope - I apprecaite what you say, and I have been really taken back by the level of sound sense I have been offered.

I am breaking nearly 50 years of feelin gI have to - I have to pay fr this and that, I have to pay my debts I have to go without. I have been carrying this debt so long its like a dark shadow, it rules my decisions, where I go, what I do. I make plans to sit in duvets on winter evenings as I am scared of the heating bills, I identify myself by my debt. And I want to let it go. I want to move on. I want to be free and work hard and take home all my pay. I dont want fancy cars or swish holidays, I dont need designer clohes. But I need to start to live. I am going for it, I am scared I am nervous I am apprehensive. I am going to do this steady and slow with method and caution. I am going to go to the CAB this week, I am going to open a cashminder account with the co op and get my wages switched over. And mostly I am going to tell myself I am doing the right thing for the right reason at this time.
