I thought this too, working for the DWP i see this quite often, one thing i will say is were not as stupid as people think, we dont let on we know/been told/or are suspicious so when the person finds out its TO LATE!
Benefit fraud is a crime!
Some peoples' enquiries are so transparent sometimes. It's actually quite funny. Nowt queer as folk, as they say.

Actually, lots of landlords are corrupt, they harbour illeagal immigrants a lot, and if someone is legal asylum seeker the government pays the landlord 3 times what he would get if he housed a normal UK resident - thats what i heard.
It is like the BNP rumour machine a few years ago that started the 'all kosovans have free mobiles, car grants and driving tests from the govt' :rotfl:0 -

Hi,
I saw a TV article on this recently, a DWP investigator went to a couples house to confirm that they were separated even though living in the same flat. What seemed to clinch it, was the fact that the man said he never ate at home, and they had rearranged their sleeping arrangements so that they slept apart.
Their claim was approved.
So obviously, some people are genuinely in this situation, even if others are not. And short of the DWP living there with them, how else could this be verified?0
