Hehe yeah but apart from the blistering final salary pension, the relative job security, the training, the paid study time, the annual leave, the occupational health system, the flexible working hours and the 6 months full pay 6 months half pay sickness allowance, what has the NHS ever done for us ??

  • Hate to be picky NHS Monkey, but you know, most of us don't get paid study time, I'm studying in my own time, paying for the course and material myself, when my employers will benefit!! Occy health will only deal with issues which prevent the full pound of flesh being extracted from you. I grant you that the pension scheme is good, and that you get sick pay, but if you're off for more than the 6 months they will try to pension you off for ill health - I know, they did it to me!!

  • Forgot to say, flexible working hours, ??? you are joking me, nights, weekends, working christmas day for standard rate of pay, come of it NHS Monkey, which part of the NHS do you work for?????
I have to pay for full time childcare because although with my shift hours I only need to work 3 days a week (13 hour shifts) I can't pick my days, so have to have childcare available for all the week!!!

  • Hehe...sorry mods, I know this is off topic. In case you hadn't noticed from my superior attitude and heaving sarcasm I am a suit and therefore think that all you ward grunts (NHS Executive term for anyone who doesn't wear a tie) do is sit around all day eating Quality Street, discussing wife swap and whinging to us about how awful working for the NHS is.

OK! This ain't the place for this! Try the Discussion Time board or the Money Savers Arms! Or even the Vent Board

Where you can "discuss" the NHS! ;)

I suggest wind-up merchants like this are ignored and not encouraged to move to another board to continue their unacceptable comments ... even if they are in jest. ::)
