Hi
I will be having a job interview and I have been told it will involvepsychometric testing for verbal and numerical reasoning.
Can anyone recommend any good websites where I can see what these involve and maybe a good book?
Thanks

I can tell you, as a fair few of my clients administer these.
The verbal ones are usually reading through a paragraph and then answering questions about it, picking out the odd one out of a group of words that are fairly unusual, things like that.
The numerical ones are pretty much maths tests.
It is worth noting that most companies do different kinds of tests.
This company gives an example of the tests they employ (PDF):

Try having a look here.

There are also a number of organisations that offer testing. This is one. they should have sample questions

Hope this helps

Hello all
I have been sent some examples now of the type of test and it is the ones where they give you data in a table or graph and you have to extract info from it, but I am so rusty on it now. I even have the answers which they give and I cat work out how they got to them!
I can't even remember how to do percentages e.g. how many percent is 24 of 104 and if sales went up from 5000 units to 6433, how much percent is that.
I went the the bbc site, but it does not have all the summary info on one page. Has anyone come across any pages where the summary of how to do percentages etc is all on one next sheet with examples?
MAD - Can you give me any pointers please on numeric tests with tables and graphs, what should I always expect to come across?
Thanks0 -
How much of a percent is 24 of 104
The way I do it is this. If 104 is 100 percent, then in order for 104 to become 100 you would divide it by 104 and multiply it by 100. So to find out what percentage of 104, 24 is, you would do the same. Divide it by 104 and multiply it by 100 = 23.08%
Sales have gone up from 5000 to 6433, so they have gone up by 1433.
5000 divided by 5000 multiplied by 100 = 100
1433 divided by 5000 multiplied by 100 = 28.66%
Hope this helps.Quidco cashback paid out so far £745.89 :j0 -
Thanks mad for posting the link to Morrisby...........I've done this one.
Don't worry Bob1000, I'm sure you'll be fine.;)
If you didn't already know, you are entitled to ask them for feedback on your performance. It will help you with future career choices, to know your strengths and weaknesses.
After I did the Morrisby profile testing thingy and other examinations, I was offered the position. I asked for feedback on my performance...........then posted my letter to decline their offer.
So.......whether you get the position or decline their offer, make sure you ask for feedback and keep a record for future reference.
Good luck
