Possible to claim from closed endowment?

Hi all - this is a different post to the norm I suppose - many years ago (1998 or 1999 I believe) I took an endowment mortgage out with after bad advice from Fox & Sons. We were first timers so we should have never been advised to take out an endowment but there you go... We then sold the property in 2000.

In 2001 I left my ex and have since married. My ex had told me the endowment was worth nothing as we had only paid into it for 2 years or so, so I left it with him.

I have none of the details apart from the fact that the advisor worked for Fox & Sons in Hove and that the mortgage was with Abbey National.

Do I have a leg to stand on in terms of a claim?

Any advice very gratefully received, thank you.
