Hi all,
I had a last gasp shot to get a 5yr fix at 4.5%. The paperwork had to be in by Friday last week, send by us, 1st class recorded delivery, last wednesday, rcved by them today <grr> Needless to say this is now lost. stupid question, but as the RM have costs us about £40 a month for the next 5 yrs does anyone have any suggestions as to follow up actions? The RM website claims it aims 1-2 days but cannot guarantee it!!!
I am VERY annoyed by this so suggestions would be most welcome.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to what the best deals are now?
thanks

Perhaps you should have paid for a guaranteed delivery of the paperwork instead of relying on a cheap and non-guaranteed option.
Your mistake.
www.moneyfacts.co.uk may help you find alternative mortgage deals.0 -
you should have sent it special delivery would have been guaranteed next day... 1st class or/and 1st class recorded are basic services with no tracking and not guaranteed for a day so you risked saving £40 per month just to save a few quid in the short term... you will learn from this mistake.. only followup on this is to claim for delayed mail, as i gather it took 3-4 days youll be lucky to get a book of 6 first stamps as they tend to give for delays...sorry to be blunt be i work in the PO and have to listen to ppl with this problem on occassions as their too tight to pay additional moniesplease just thank me0

you think RM are going to cover the fixed rate for you?
get real, you paid about £1.12 to send the documents
for under a fiver it could have been there on thursday
if you wanted a guarantee then you should have used a service that provided one
£5 for special delivery vs £2400 in savings :rolleyes:0 -
What I always do if I send something important ,is use Royal Mail special Delivery.
I wouldn't send anything Recorded delivery ,as altho' there is a form to fill
and a signature is required at the other end , the reality is that it isn't much different
from an ordinary first class letter.
What does have me puzzled is that the majority of legal companies/solicitors
still prefer to use Recorded delivery...0 -

for a lot its the 7 day retention
then they know if the recipient hasnt got the letter and can action it(well thats the theory)
this is why court citations are not retained at all but just returned if nobody is home0 -
Thanks for that Custardy.;)0
