I have some videos that I want to transfer to DVD - and so does my Aunt.

Does anyone know where I can pick one up for a reasonable price ( £20/£30 ??? )

Just get this http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=223662 and then sell it afterwards.0

you could try calling your local Richer Sounds store as I know they used to stock VCR (not sure if they still do) and the staff are super helpful

You won't be able to resell it - believe me - been trying to sell mine for god knows how long - still in fab condition so didn't really want to give it away....
Try asking on Freecycle or eBay for collection in your local area.0 -
I was going to say, try Freecycle. Sometimes people wont advertise them as they don't think anyone will want them, but if you ask, and someone has one kicking about in the loft I am sure they will only be too glad for you to take it off their hands,Start Date: 27/11/2010
Padding: Day 42
Target £8000
Amount: £562.230 -
i would also say to try the freecycle there is also freeshare as well which are pretty much the same thing but i think its got more members.i have seen a few on there over the last few weeks! No reliance should be placed on the above.0

Thanks folks.
I forgot about Freecycle. Some colleagues from work have mentioned using that in the past. Will check it out.
I did find a refurb one for £19.99 on Maplin which is also an option.0 -
I've seen them cropping up in charity shops regularly so it might be worthwhile doing the rounds of the local ones.
When you've got one you'll still need a Pinnacle Dazzle or something similar to convert the analogue signals to digital, though.
A friend got a dual function recorder from Richer Sounds last year for around £80.
It doesn't do editing, though; just straight VCR to DVD recording (or vice versa if you need it).0 -
You could always try a local car boot, or maybe ebay with the local pickup option?Old Faithful we roam the range together,
Old Faithful in any kind of weather,
When the round up days are over,
And the Boulevard’s white with clover,
For you old faithful pal of mine.0 -
I have a house full of videos and they are driving me crazy! I am soooo loathe to get rid of them especially the Disney ones! When I think of how much was spent on them at the time and now we have to start all over again getting the DVD's! Best of it is I remember last time round when we switched from betamax to VHS!! LOL0
