Yorkshire BS Transfer

Hi Kiddies,

I need some help from fellow YBSers.

I'm trying to transfer from my co-op cashminder account and have filled in the sort code and account number for my YBS account, leaving off the last 2 digits, but co-op is putting 2 00's on the end, where as my actual account number is 20 at the end. What have you all done with the last 2 digits, left them as 00 or changed them to 20?

  • you dont put them numbers in.

on one of the letters you should have been sent is the transfer details. have a look through them. they are different to the account details.

if you cant find the letter just give them a ring

Leave it as it is - I remember reading on their help pages somewhere just to ignore those digits as they are 'internal use only' for their systems when I got confused about the same thing.

The money still ended up in the right place :)

    Cheers

    Thanks Lisa,
I'm using the number it tells me to on the letter, but when I put them into the boxes on co-op it's adding the 00's automatically

    Here ya go:

    Beneficiary account number

This is the eight digit Account Number of the person or company receiving the funds. Please obtain the account number from the Beneficiary.
Note - Please note the "Beneficiary Account Number" will be displayed with an additional "00" at the end of the eight digit account number. This is added for payment processing purposes only.
Note - If the account number you have been quoted is only 7 digits long it may be a Lloyds TSB Bank Account. If this is the case add '0' to the front of the Account Number.
If the account number you have been quoted is 9 digits long it may be an Alliance & Leicester Account. If this is the case, remove the three '0's' from the end of the Sort Code and replace them with '61' and the first digit of the Account Number.
    For Example:
Sort Code 726000 Account Number 123456789 becomes
Sort Code 726611 Account Number 23456789
Some Co-operative Bank Savings accounts have 10 digit Account Numbers ending in 50,53,56 etc. Please key in the full 10 digit Account Number.

Another Q, how long does it take to reach the YBS account?

If it was under £75 it should go faster payments so should show in YBS at the very latest the following day, over and it will go by BACS so 3 working days.

Yeah just ignore the 00 and the money will arrive. I had the same thing and just zapped it.
