HSBC remortgage. Adding ERC to new mortgage

Currently have a couple of mortgages with HSBC with 2 and 3 years left at 5.17 and 6.69 percent.
If I redempt now I will fix for 5 years and pay a greater amount back, however I can not get them to agree to add the ERC to the new figures. I will have under 50 percent LTV and take the new mortgage over a smaller period.
Branch say ring redemptions
Redemptions say go to branch
Arrrgghh... Anyone any suggestions?
