HELP...Ashley Park

I am so annoyed. I phoned a company regarding a loan and was duely passed to Ashley Park a Debt solutions agency. It sounded like a good idea at the time so i said yes. Fortunately things changed slightly for me and I no longer need their service. They have debited my bank account £75!!!
Unfortunately i did not realise that on the day i gave them my account details i had just 7days to cancel i thought it was from the date it debited my account. So i called to explain this and the girl was more than unhelpful and said i had lost my £75.
Is there anything i can do because obviously £75 is a lot of money to me and cant afford to waste it on nothing. can anyone advise me?

I'd have to see your contract, but it sounds like you may have lost your £75 I'm afraid. Distance selling regulations give you a 7 day cooling off period, if you don't use that you may have lost out.
The only other alternative I can think of is to try to prove you was misinformed (if this is the case) and the charges were not set out to you, or if you didn't receive appropriate paperwork. If you have been mis-sold you may have a complaint to the Ombudsman, but this may be tricky to pursue I'm afraid unless there is some sort of written evidence.0 -
well the girl claimed to have told me this and all calls are recorded so she can check i do believe her but i dont remember being told all this. im so mad at myself. i didnt think they would take the payment if i hadnt been in touch. surely if they had n ot heard from me they should have assumed i was not interested?0

If all calls are indeed recorded, you can write to them with a Subject Access Request under the Data Protection Act and ask for a copy of the recording.
The problem is unfortunately a lot of these financial groups rely on people not cancelling, so it's not right to assume you wasn't interested. When it comes to financial affairs like this the golden rule is to check contracts have been cancelled. Probably not the news you want to hear, but try that subject access request if you're confident you wasn't told something you should have been.0
