A prophetic genius - I don't mean Jackson - the wit who started this thread in a section titled "It's Gone, but was it any good? ..."
It wasn't started on this thread....it was in the grabbit forum....Man who run into airport turn-styles is going to Bangkok
To steal ideas from one person is plagiarism; to steal from many is research

Well, I was never a fan of Michael Jackson - he was a bit too 'odd' for me to be honest. Still, he made a hell of an impact on the pop-music world, and that deserves some respect.
I still don't understand how he felt he could possibly play 50 concerts on a final tour though? surely he knew he woudn't be up to it?
Anyway, on another note, I presume that Alex Ferguson will still be playing Giggs in August won't he?0 -

For those worried about your tickets, just taken this from BBC website:
Fans who bought directly should now get a full refund, although it is a gloomier picture for those who bought from a third party.
If no terms and conditions applied then these buyers have no legal rights.
Your rights
Anyone who bought tickets directly from the O2, or from agencies connected to the tour should get a refund or possibly an exchange for another event as stated in their terms and conditions.
Ticketholders should check their confirmation email for the name of the ticketing company through which the tickets were bought. This shows who they should make their claim to.
If these tickets were sold on by established agencies then terms and conditions offering a refund for cancellation should again be in place.
Examples of such refunds came with cancellations of shows such as when Amy Winehouse pulled out of a tour in 2007.
But if tickets were bought from private sellers on the internet or in person then no terms and conditions are stipulated and so the buyer does not have any set legal rights.
In this case, the best ticketholders can hope for is a friendly agreement with the seller to be handed their money back. The seller could then apply for their money from whomever they bought the tickets from.
Ticket exchange business Seatwave.com have announced that it will refund any tickets bought through its website.0 -
Fellow fans, don't get worked up by TW**S on here posting jokes, comments etc. events like this unfortunately attract such people, just in the way accidents attract rubber neckers.
People around him, destroyed him and led him to sign up for 50 shows in the way Ali signed up for one fight too many when trying to recapture past glory and survive financial ruin. These same people will be out to live off his corpse with tell all stories and rumours, etc.
Think instead, of his amazing shows in the 80s/90s, the fact that Amazon download chart top 15 this morning is all MJ songs, even Indian radio stations this morning are playing MJ, the fact that despite all the negative press and not having performed or recordred for years, he sells out O2 50 nights in hours, all the fact that his death is dominating the news wall to wall, coast to coast in the way a president or royal's death would do.
The King is dead, may he find the peace he missed in life.0 -
if anyone bought them from seetickets - here is the snapshot of their t's and c's which they should honour;
Once purchased, tickets cannot be transferred, exchanged, refunded or returned unless the event is cancelled, moved to another date, or if details of the event are significantly changed after an order is placed (significant changes being a change of headline act (concerts only), venue or show time).
In the event of the cancellation of an event by the organiser/promoter (ie a cancellation due to circumstances beyond See's control), See will only refund the face value of the ticket. See will use best endeavours to contact purchasers either by phone, email or in writing (using the details provided at the time of ordering) and advise them to return the tickets. Please note, however, it is the customer's responsibility to check whether the event is going ahead at the scheduled date, time and venue, and See cannot guarantee that they will inform the customer of any changes to the event date, time or venue.0 -
