What is it with MSE and claims companies?

Is there some sort of conspiracy going on here?
There are many of posts and threads which name and shame bad practice within loan companies, banks, credit card suppliers etc etc, but as soon as someone posts any adverse comments about some of the claims companies and names them, the post gets deleted.
Do they have tougher lawyers then the banks?

We’re keeping working on the step-by-step guide, which will detail both a legal assessment of how to do it yourself and will list reputable claims handlers. When it’s ready it’ll of course be in the weekly e-mail.

Sadly, discussion in the forum is limited on this one as claims handlers are a litigious bunch, and the risk of handing them a juicy libel claim from some flippant comment sadly means discussion needs to be put on hold until we’re fully ready to publish.

Seems odd that MSE are happy to stand up to large institutions such as banks, but run scared of the little tin pot claims companies.

I'm sure Martin's stance is based on the legal advice he has received. As is normally the case with these things, I doubt you will get more of an explanation than that.

No names need to be mentioned, but many have the morals of alley cats - far worse than the industry that they pretend to be 'protecting' the consumer from.

The sooner the Ministry of Justice gets its act together and regulates this bunch effectively the better.
