Musty smells in a corset! Tee hee!

Options
Hee hee! Sounds filthy but it's not! I have a satin steel boned corset that I want to sell on ebay but it smells musty as it was kept near a damp wall for a while. Not sure how to get the smell out and give it an overall freshen up / clean without damaging the satin. It's black satin if that helps? Any suggestions?! I'm going to hang it on the line this weekend if the weather is good but other than that I am at a loss!

The line would be my best bet too. Perhaps keep it out on it's own (rather than cooped up in a wardrobe) as much as poss and maybe by an open window if the weather's not good? You could hang it up on the curtain rail, that's what I used to do with smokey clothes before smoking was banned in pubs. hth

I once had beer poured over me in a black satin corset in a pub. When I got home I got some luke warm water, put soda crystals in the water and lightly dabed the corset so it didn't get soaked and then hand dried it with a towel as best as I could. After it dried you couldn't tell it got beer over it and it didn't smell either. It also gave it a well needed clean. I'd be very careful doing this method if I were you though. I thought my corset would be ruined anyway so I did take a risk but it worked really well  lol.
