Says 'Major Brand' but in effect it could be anything. Crucial is only worth paying extra for because it's stable, reliable and has a lifetime warranty if it ceases to be stable and reliable.
I got a new 1GB piece of PC2700 on eBay for £39.99 buy-it-now a few months ago, so I agree - not that great a price.
