Can anyone on CSA answer me a wee quick question?

Hi there. Not on here often but got a silly wee question I hope someone can answer. I recevied a payment schedule for CSA for my little boys dad to pay me (finally after 5 years!!!! lol) and the first payment was on 21/06/09. . . this was on Sunday s I was just wondering, if your payment lands on a weekend, when do you normally receive it? Thanks loads. L xxxx

is it the Collection Service or Maintenance Direct?

I'm (finally) under the Collection Service and my payments are due in every Monday, I'm not sure when the ex actually pays the CSA but the funds usually clear my account by the Friday

Hi, i was in the same boat, first payment ever after 4 years of chasing, was also due on a sunday last month. Got the payment early, I think it depends when they take if from their wages and they pass it on to you asap. The payment schedule isn't set in stone for the exact days, so you should call them if you don't receive it say by the monday and they will be able to tell you if they have got the payment in yet.

    Hiya
It really would depend on how the money is being received from the nrp - if it is by direct debit and the collection date falls on the weekend it should be received by the agency on the monday after - This would then pay out to you which can take 3 - 5 working days depending on your bank. Is worth remembering though that the letter you have is only forcasted payments and not guaranteed as he may not make payments or lose his job etc. Best to give them a call a few days after the payment date to see if it has been recieved - After a few payments you will usually see a pattern developing of when you receive them.

Usually the first working day after a weekend!!! but it usually takes a few days after the CSA receive it before it gets into your bank because of the bacs system

They should set up an arrestment directly from his wages then, thats the only reason I've got mine, I don't think they gave him the option not to, they went straight in with the arrestment.
Give them a call and see if they're doing this.

Thanks for that info. The lady I spoke to said shes going to try to ring him throughout the day and take a card payment. Ill ring tomorrow morning if I dont hear anything. You would think it would be quite daft of him to no pay it because hes only going to get in more arrears. No brainer really but hey. L xxx

  • Hiya,
I've read lots of helpful suggestions from other posters to GET EVERYTHING IN WRITING. I think you may want to consider putting your request in writing.

You could go as far as sending it recorded delivery! I wish I had done so when dealing with the CSA over the past couple of years.

Also, I'm fairly new to posting, can anyone tell me in simple layman terms how I add a quote to a reply?
