hi, can anyone help. i was sold an endowment policy, in 1986, with norwich union, (before the 1988 legislation came in) which is going to underperform by around £10k (never mind the bonus we were promised!). i have tried approached norwich union to seek compensation but they informed me that the seller was an independent agent and i had to contact them regarding issue. i have finally found out via the fsa that the agent has gone bust and i can't trace them anyway. the fsa said that they wouldn't beable to take my case any further, the norwich union wont accept laiblity, so basically nobody is accepting liablity. i've even tried these companies who try and get money for you for a big fee, but they said they can't help either. the only other advice i've been given is to take it to court, which i cant see as a viable option!! anyone got any suggestions before i finally give up?
thanks shiza

I'm afraid there's nothing you can do in this case. With pre 1988 endowments, unless you were sold it by a big financial institution, it's almost imposibble to get redress because it was before regulation came in.Even the big banks and insurers only look at cases on a voluntary basis.Trying to keep it simple...0
