    Always remember the customs charges when buying from abroad, particually america.
    I forgot about them and bought two items in one go to save on the postage, which took the value over the customs limit, would've been cheaper buying them seperatly :rolleyes::rotfl:

    Yeah, turns out even if it is a gift, if its over £36 you get stung by customs...

    You are not getting stung it is just ignorance of the law.

    It is not just VAT that you are being charged, but the correct import tax for the actual item along with the admin fee charged by the 'collector' of the tax on behalf of the C&E.
