Nationwide Admin Fee £150!!!

Hi,

I got a quote for a transfer of deeds (to put my wife on mortgage), from my current mortgage provider Nationwide, this being a total of £288 inc all legal fees.

Phoned up to tell them I want to go ahead with it when the mortgage advisor quoted me an extra £150 in admin costs!

I want to get this done asap due to the fact that I am starting a remorgage process with RBS which I want to start in September (current nationwided mortgage deal runs out 31st July then onto BMR).

Question: If I choose the RBS solicitors or any other for that matter would I still be needing to pay Nationwide an Admin fee due to the fact the the solicitors would be contacting Nationwide and corresponding and doing what thery have to do with them?

Before my RBS mortgage can go through it is a stipulation that my wife is on the mortgage.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

Hi - just to say we had similar charges with the Abbey when I added my husband onto the mortgage last year. I think its pretty standard.

Although I am not quite sure why RBs can't just add her on when you remortgage
