Thanks for the replies.
We have had 2 replayment holidays on both of the loans in the last 2 months. We did this to help keep the wolves from the door, but we can only do it once every 6 months.
What is csss? and payplan?
Pee, I have almost finished it now for this year. But I am doing holiday club over the summer.
He is on the new deal scheme as he wants to work, but he is still very unwell. He currently works from home.. He is still also having CBT which is helping, but he is definatly not 100% yet.
Thanks
SarahHave you asked the bank if it's possible to have a payment holiday on the loan?
How much short are you?
(Wondering if it may be possible to get a 0% card)
Have you contacted CCCS or Payplan?0 -
CCCS and Payplan are non profit organisations that offer advice over the phone (or in CCCS case over the internet too) regarding setting up Debt Management Plans (DMP). Their numbers are at the top of the forum. The important thing with these two (aswell as national debtline) is that they don't charge fees for what they do.
Which is negotiate with your creditors to get lower payments and freeze interest.
hope this helps
chevI want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?

But would the holiday club hours also allow you to do something else?0

Hi. Have you managed to get on to the council about council tax benefit? and see if you are eligible towards any money towards the mortgage?
Also phone up the jobseekers people and check you are getting everything you are entitled to.

When you say he works from home, is this producong no income at all?
If this is the case he may be better off doing an entirely stress free job such as shelf stacking. Self employment can be extremely hard on the nerves.0 -

He is starting to make a bit of money, however he is not aloud to take any money from the business as he is still getting benifit. It's a trial trading period.
He gets quite agrophobic, that is why he has CBT so going out and getting a job is not going to be easy for him. That's why he went the self employed route.
Rang up council for some forms, but we are still to receive them
Just seems like everything we touch is going wrong

Okay first things first calm down , make a cuppa and try to relax.
I am pretty sure you can claim council tax credit and because your a student you should be entitled to a rebate. especially since april and the new tax year. This would mean 25% off your council tax bill. Oh and if you get any council or housing benefit including new deal benefit i think you can take your pets to PDSA for free veterinary treatment.
If you can turn up tomorrow on your lunch break and just go into your local office and ask for a council tax claim form. They should just give you it they and then.
If you don't mind me saying, if you are working full time (30hours +) and your are 25 years and over you maybe able to claim working tax credit.
New deal, don't pay much do they, i know my partner was on it about 9 years ago an dit was absolute rubbish. I would reccomend you not getting a second job as yet as you would be absolutely exhausted. You also put your current position at risk as your manager may claim its too dangerous working around children.
As for petfood, try asking in your local pet shops about bulk buying dog/cat biscuits. Asda do 24 tins of cat food for £8-92 its the same for dog food too. Not sure if thats any good for you though.0 -
Kezlou Thank you x
He is going to ring up CAB again today and see if we can get an appointment, even if we have to travel 10 miles to get one. His mobile is almost finished so we can cancel tha soon
It's just scary, we are so scared of loosing the house.

Don't worry hun, you'll be fine x
I'm in the same position seriously overdrawn on all three of our overdrafts, credit cards maxed out. Two kids to support, two cats one which costs a fortune in vet bills.
My partner's contract and funding ended in March and my student finance messed up so i didnt get a penny off them, but yet still need to pay them back a years worth of funding
. Yep go figure.
So know how you feel, its extremely stressful, trying to keep every little thing together.
But they is light at the end of the tunnel, were all here so you have someone to talk, rant, cry and laugh too. The first step is always the hardest, and guess what you both have already done it, by coming on here and going right what do i do now.
Good luck at the CAB office, hope you and your OH are feeling slightly better today.

Got an appointment on Monday at CAB. We have no money for food at all and we can not pay our phone, gas or C/tax
I really am so depressed at the moment. We are on our last warning with the council too
god where will it all end
