    Narciso Rodriguez For Her
    Hermes Eau de Merveilles
    Jo Malone Fig & Cassis
    Banana Republic Rosewood

But my favourites at the moment are

My problem is that I never want to wear any scent which is highly fashionable and therefore instantly recognisable. I want my fragrance to be unique to me even though it's mass-produced. If I won the lottery I'd have a fragrance blended especially for me but as I haven't yet I wear the following:

Aromatics Elixir by Clinique for day-time wear. I get an unbelievable number of compliments about this scent and I'm always amazed at how few people recognise it.

Caleche by Hermes for evenings out. This has been my favourite for a couple of decades and I still really adore it.

Arpege by Lanvin for VERY, VERY special occasions. The old formulation, not the new one. I've been wearing this one for a really, really long time and it still fills me with joy every time I use it.

However, since having discovered the incredibly inexpensive smell-alikes on the Perfume-Parlour website I'm going to make a special trip to a department store's perfumery section and see if I can find a new favourite and buy a smell-alike in true MSE style. The Aromatics smell-alike is identical to the real one so I'm taking that as a really good sign.

I couldn't wear the same perfume all the time. I like different smells for different moods, or days, or weather. I don't like mainstream perfumes either, they are too strong and alcohol-y for me.

I currently have 25 (I think) different scents. A couple I'm going to sell because I don't like them so much anymore. A couple I really like. But most of them are samples I'm trying out because I haven't found the right set of scents that suit me yet.

    Lush:
    American Cream (forum special)
    B Scent
    Keep It Fluffy
    Silky Underwear (forum special)
    Sultana of Fragrance (forum special)

    BPAL:
13 samples, this month I am trying out London.

    MMU:
1 body spray and 4 sample oils

Then I have 2 really old spritzers to use up (a Demeter and one from Boots), they are nice enough not to bin but I won't buy them again.

Just the one here- "First" by Van Cleef and Arples.

I just love this but it is now getting very hard to find ( never was very easy) and I live in dread of it being discontinued.

Never buy perfume for myself, always get what I want as gifts ( after giving heavy hints!) Can't wear it for work, so lasts me a long time, but wear it as often as poss. What I wear depends on my mood.

    Longstanding fave is Gucci Envy.
    Ghost Serenity
    DKNY
Givency Ange ou Demon (just a touch)
    Paco Rabanne Ultra Violet
    Ralp Lauren Romance
    lancome Tresor
    Acqua di Gio
    Cerutti 1550
    Daisy

Also have lots of little sample sprays and sachets, which I try out on hols!

I'm wearing My Queen by Alexander Mc Queen atm. I go through phases of loving a perfume, getting bored with it, and then moving on to another. My previous favourite was Touch of Pink by Lacoste.

I'm with bitterandtwisted in hating to smell ''fashionable''. However I did just pick up the Prada scent in duty free. It is delicious and very ''me'' smelling. I like floral, but not sweet perfume. I'll often mix scents to get the smell just right for me. I'd LOVE to be ble to have a scent or two mixed: similar bases, with seasonal/mood differences.

I'm lucky to have a dh who goes through duty free regularly. My f-i-l is also very kind and brings a bottle whenever he visits: sadly I usuallydon't like what he buys me. I wear it while he's round for visit then give the bottle to friends/neices as appropriate. I'd love to guide his choice, but it seems so rude and presumptious.
