Work advice for 15 year olds

When I was 14 my mother, who was widowed with two children, was paying over 15% interest rate on her mortgage. She had no money to give me for frivolities, I got all the basic things I needed. I was fed, clothed and got all the basic things a 14 year old needs.
But I was 14, I wanted fashionable clothes, albums and to visit the cinema. The only way I could get these things was to get a job. I had a nice job in family run shop. It not only gave me £12.50 a week for spends, but a whole new set of skills, responsibilty and a sense of acheivement.0 -
DD is currently looking for work (shes 14) and we have just got used to asking everywhere and anywhere, if they have vacancies and how old they have to be (so she can apply asap after)
The best one we have found so far (if you like early mornings) is either taking money on the gate or directing the traffic at a carboot sale - seems the ones in our area pay £50 per session, but you have to be there at the right time to get the job, as its more a case of turning up and if a regular hasnt shown, you might get your foot in the door
