  • There is a rather amatuerish page here that has a contact email address. From reading some info on the site it would seem that the glass has a special coating so personally I would buy original.
Each FONDIS fireplace and insert with a flat pane glass door* is equipped with self-cleaning glass treated with Pyrolytic Visioceram® which guarantees an optimal view of the fire. The other FONDIS models are also self-cleaning by the sweeping of air.

Be very careful in what you buy to replace this glass. I have been a glasscutter for over 20 years and have been asked many times for replacement glass for cookers/burners. Because of the heat involved, it is a specialist glass that's needed.

My advice to you, is the same advice I've given to many people over the years. Get in touch with the manufacturers and get them to sell you a replacement piece of glass. This will probably be cheaper as they will order in bulk for each model, and you will be sure to get the glass with the correct properties for your make and model of burner.

Don't be tempted to try for a makeshift repair on this. I've seen glass come out of an oven at 700 degrees and explode. The hot glass spread over 30ft away. Glass at high temperatures can be extremely dangerous.

    Agree with Rex!

Ours is cracked, but not broken out, YET. At £25/door, It'll wait a bit longer.

if you're anywhere near Luton - place in Barton gets it in a day or 2.

I'll find contact details, if you ask again.

I agree. Stick to the proper stuff from a reputable dealer. replaced mine a couple of years ago - think it was £25 or so, for an Efel stove from Real Fires in Pontypridd. Excellent service there.
