i don't use the stores that nectar points are generally associated with - but then i am single, no kids and generally boring!!!!
i therefore use the points as money straight off my shopping. It's not the best value use of the points but helps my budget. I usually shop as normal and add a bottle of wine as a treat when i use my points.r.mac, you are so wise and wonderful, that post was lovely and so insightful!0 -
If you live near a Cannons health club you can get a month's premium membership for 2 people for 4 vouchers. Cannons have pools and are lovely- you can do this three times apparently, but not consecutive months.0

I also use mine for Cannons membership, as 4 voucher (=£10 against sainsburys shopping) for 2 people for a month's gym membership is good deal.
I was aware of not having trial membership in consecutive months, but was not aware of the max 3 times rule, the Cannon's near me doesn't seem that efficient that they could detect the 3 times rule, will probably be made to eat my words when I next use them there !0 -

Why use capitals at the beginning of each word?0 -
I don`t know if you are all aware but you now have to get branded Nectar vouchers, so when you order them (as you cannot get them from sainsbury`s now) they will ask you where you are going to spend them, when they arrive they have the store logo on and then can only be used at that store.0

Someone asked what others who haven't got children do with Nectar points...
...Up till now we have just allowed them to accumulate until Christmas and then used them for extra treats at Christmas. I know that this way we're losing interest on the amount accruing... but it really helps with the luxury budget at Christmas (or could be saved for the sales too)!
The other thing to do is to register online and now Sainsburys have lots more places where you can earn extra points by clicking through the nectar site. I'm hopeful that some of these might give discounts for nectar points soon too! There are extra online outlets for things like holidays and days out which give a much better return than £2.50 off shopping for 500 points (e.g. £25 discount 1,000 points from Tompson travel).
Hope this helps!

We always use our nectar vouchers in odeon cinemas. 1000 points gets you one adult ticket so my fiancee and I normally go to the cinema free for 2000 points every couple of months or so.
depending on prices at your local odeon cinema this makes 2000 points worth around £15-16. not the best return out there but still far better than using them in-store.
note that west end cinemas are the only exception and that they are double the number of points per ticket.0
