Well, took advice from you lot and in particular, tigerfeet2006 and dalip and contacted CCCS and I'm awfully glad I did as they went thru everything in a non-judgemental fashion and recommended bankruptcy [gulp !] and I have just picked up the papers, which I must say, look very daunting and involved without even looking thru them. I just hope I can go through this without having a nervous breakdown as the last 10 years have been awful and in particular, the last 2 years have been a nightmare.
I would also like to thank winnie81 on sharing her experience in markbass's piece on the Court appearance as it looks like I'm going to be experiencing this but on my own so this Forum is essential to enable me to get thru it all.

auldblerk I am glad that you found CCCS helpful and have taken the first step to getting your life back under control.
As Holes says you might find the online forms easier. You can just do a bit at a time as and when you need. Ask questions on here when you get stuck and save often as the IS site has a habit crashing.
From the Bankruptcy Help sticky, which I strongly suggest you read.

Top post tiger and welcome auldblerk.
Everything about BR seems daunting at the begining but it is not as bad as it looks. Especially the forms. I did mine online and started them 3 months before BR date so I had plenty of time to complete them. You can do them bit by bit and it helped me greatly.
When I started I used to read with envy people who have done the process and wish that some day it will be me. Well it is and one day it will be you too
Good luck and I hope all goes well.

Thanks yellowmonkey for your words of encouragement, they help.
Do I just download them, print then fill out ? I was also advised to fill out a 'rebate' form for the fees as I am on a low income so will do this too and also to get a basic account with another Bank that my debts are not connected to; I have contacted Clydesdale and requested a 'Readycash' account. Does anybody have any background on this i.e. any problems obtaining one, how long before it becomes active etc ?
Any advice on this would be appreciated.0 -

Just go online
https://www.insolvencydirect.gov.uk/isolv/public/access/PublicUserLogin.do
Go down to register and passwords and then register. You can then fill in the forms and save at your leisure. At the end you confirm everything and print them off.
