I won £1000 makeover!!

Just wanted to share that I won a makeover worth £1000 through Lovin Studios in London! I am unable to post the link but I found it on MyVoucherCodes homepage!

I am a bit dubious though as I've been asked for a deposit to confirm the booking but I'll get it back. Has anyone been contacted by this company after "winning" the prize??

Thanks:rotfl:

    Hi rosco.

I've never won a prize of this sort, but wonder whether the booking fee is refunded to you by way of discount on purchase of photos?

I personally wouldn't ever pay a deposit of any sort to win a genuine prize.

I would be careful to check the term and conditions before paying your fee, should you decide to go ahead.

I can't comment on this particular package, but a lot of these companies do offer apparently "high value" prizes, and then sting you for £100's should you want to buy the pictures - which are probably hard sell (even though you might look gorgeous!).

Thats exactly what I was thinking, I make the trip to London for this for my girlfriend, she gets a haircut and then we are told we should buy the photos. I'm a salesman myself so wouldn't fall for any of it but I just don't want to make the trip unless its worth it!

I had call to say I'd won this too but they wanted my card details so told them i didn't want it. Didn't know who they was and didn't want to get scammed

Wow Sophy! Exactly the same company?! I'm going to ask tonight when they call back what the situation is but I think they get you in, take photos and try and get you to buy prints! I'll post back tomorrow!

A friend of mine won something similiar.

They did all the hair and make up, photos then wanted to charge her over £400 for the photos aswell as trying to take money for other bits and pieces threw out the day.

I think that is generally what happens! I am really dubious because I actually work at the website I entered the competition through! Surely the chances of a) me winning and b) me working at the site he advertised the competition is lower than winning the lottery!!

i went there and everyone wins competitions. they are a rip off cos they say its a prize but you have to pay for pics. i had my shoot which was great. makeup was good and photos but when it came to looking at the pics its was a rip off. Kevin is the person who showed me the pics and he asked me to pay £1000 for my photos. he told me i have to purchase otherwise i have to go. He was first flirting with me telling me i looked sexy in my pics and some comments about my phisique which was really inappropriate and a bit uncomfortable then he told me to pay or leave. he was very pushy and rude. it was a total scam!!!! BEWARE!

Well I asked them to confirm everything in an e-mail to me and they haven't bothered! I thought it was a scam anyway. An ex of mine had the same issue with Venture photography. After asking Lovin studios for an e-mail, a colleague of mine received the same call!! Thanks to everyone who posted, I know now exactly where I stand!!:T
