Can anyone explain to me in a really simple way what a custodian bank is, and why they are used?

I've heard of a custodian trustee, not a custodian bank. A bank which holds the deeds or other valuable documents relating to a charity's property?£705,000 raised by client groups in the past 18 mths :beer:0
