s.o.a. confusion

hi everybody,we cant get this through our heads.we cant put s.o.a.on here yet as we not got full figures yet.my hubbys benefits monthly £679 an his expenditure is £677.so he looks to be ok after b.r.however mine i recieve £385 per month an if i put down all utility bills same as hubbys got on his s.o.a.plus all my personal expenses.that makes my outgoings £617to which i am minus £232.wont the o.r. say i cant manage?however we can because the food on hubbys s.o.a.£350 an i have put the same on mine,an we obviously dont spend £700 per month on food..big sigh hope you understand all this as we are going round an round in circles....now answer slowly an pretend we are thick....regards penny

    On your DH SoA you put the amount you put towards the joint bills like rent/mortgage, utilities, food. On you SoA you put what your DH contributes to the joint bills so they should both balance.

    On each persons individual SoA you put joint bils and then that individuals own expenses like travel.
