Please help

I have debts of approx 4k to 4 creditors.

I had made every attempt to sort this out months ago, I set up a dmp with CCS. Arranged the dd with my bank only CCS said the bank kept declining it, Whilst the bank said CCS neverr took it out. To cut a long story short the DMP folded about 4 months ago.

I am now getting letters from DG Solicitors for my debt to HSBC. I have been getting letters from that many DCAs that Im out of my debth knowing who I need to contact about what. I have also had a little yellow card saying Power 2 Contact will be calling Wednesday between 9am-9pm, to discuss contact with CSL?? that I had not acted on. I can not find any correspondance from them.

I am at my wits end, feel sick and wish I was just not here right now.

Im so mad about the DMP folding but after numerous calls no one woud take responsibility for the Direct Debit failure. Even if it could be set back up again, I doubt the creditors would accept it now.

It took so much courage for me to start the DMP. Now I am not sure what route I can take.

Hope someone has some advice.

    Hey fluffykittens,

I have no advice to offer, but didn't want to read and run. Bumping it up for others to read as well. I'm sure the experts will follow soon.

    Good luck!

  • Hi

Debt collectors push and push - but at the end of the day any payment is better than none.

Dont worry about if, what, when ... just be brave and talk to them. If they say no, then you are no worse off.

HSBC were terrible with my friend. He made numerous offers to them, they refused and would only budge about £12 a month less than his instalment. However the solicitors involved now have accepted £10 a week even though its about 20 years to pay off the debt. Literally overnight he went from hassle of HSBC chasing payments of over £110 a month, to £10 a week accepted. Debts being passed to DCA can be blessings in disguise sometimes.

My only advice would be :

Make list of every debt you have
    List reference numbers
Start at the top and ring round all of them
50% might be reasonable so if you get hassle, hang up and move to the next one - they may be nicer
At the end of the list, post on here what results you have got

Dont understand why the DD failed, but to be honest I think you need to put this down as an error and start again. There are many other DMP companies, and if you cannot get anywhere yourself, a company will be able to help.

Or choose another company to go with, ring them and make an appt, then call all these companies just to advise them a new DMP will be coming their way and token payments will be made this month whilst you are waiting for the appt.
