Co-op Cashminder Debit card

I've just had a long drawn out conversation with the Co-op, the out come of which is "The new Visa Debit card is just a name change to the electron" - YOU WILL NOT be able to use it at any of the places that refuse electron!! The only way you can get a full visa debit card with the co-op is to change your account to a full one (which of course we br's can't!!!!).

I explained that to my way of thinking the co-op was being a little underhanded over the whole thing since they are giving people the impression that they are getting a true FULL debit card but they don't see it that way!

I suppose beggars can't be choosers and the co-op has been good to us br's but I still think it's a bit naughty of them!

Is there any update on this - or is this teh case set in stone? So having a card with 'debit' on instead of 'electron' is the only change? Is it just something the Visa will phase out do you think so that the cards so work as a debit card?

I wish I knew? It maybe the case that once all electron cards are replaced the electron system will be switched to a true Visa Debit system but as far as I can tell this could be years away - unfortunately the co-op doesn't appear to know what they are doing! Depending on who you speak to you get told a different story!

To be honest I'm really p***** with the situation - I just want to know what is going to happen and when!!!:confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused:

Yeah, whilst the electron is fine fo rmost places, there are still some cases where you are unsure whether it can be taken or not.. oh well, i guess it will all transpire soon!!
