Sanyo TV/ VHS & Daewoo FreeView problems

Sanyo TV/ VA friend has a Sanyo VHR-251E video recorder, but no manual - can anyone suggest where I might get one, or does anyone have one which they could scan or photocopy, please? I'm happy to cover legitimate costs.
In particular, we need to get the TV, a Sanyo CE21MT4H-B, to display the menu on-screen, when programming the video.
She also has a Daewoo setpal DS608P FreeView box. When set to display in 4x3 format, it's fine, but set to display widescreen, there bottom line of the picture flashes white, very distractingly, Any idea how to stop that?
Finally, can anyone suggest more specific TV/ video forums where I should ask these questions?
