how do you go about finding an nhs dentist? i've recently had a baby so i should be entitled to one until he is a year old but i have no idea how to find one! i've heard about special days you can join, does this still apply if you are a nhs customer?
sorry, i've no idea how it works as i havent been for 7 years

dmg24 is right. Your local Primary Care Trust is the place that controls the access to NHS dentistry. Some are more organised than others though. How to find a dentist.
1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.0
