Finally the two vans belong to some music promoters. With the new policy of painting over flyposts, they're trying to come up with new ways of getting the flyposts out. I've noticed a proper 'driving' van parked around south belfast for the limelight and spring and airbrake and they've taken a proper advertising billboard at the bottom of Botanic Ave and put flyposts on it (legally I presume cos they aren't painted out). I think whoever owns those ones down by Custom House Square have taken it one step further by flyposting on the shell of vans in that space but the council have still painted over the posters so they must judge that as illegal. Not sure what the wheels being off is about though. It does look terrible. I'm all for urban art but that's taking it a bit far!

That's so it makes them harder to tow away! But they just keep getting replaced! Looks a right junk yard down there now!

wrong place for me, infact that whole thanksgiving square thing is wrong in my opinion, she'd have looked good welcoming visitors if the boats coming in actually went that far up the Lagan,

lady with hoop is to do with road cycling i think not sure and the big fish is to do with fishing in belfast

no the lady with the hoop was commissioned by the people behind thanksgiving square which is that little covered over bit beside it and they went through lots of ideas over how it was going to look including the ridiculous idea of having holes in a wall where people could post letters through saying what they were thankful for (kind of like worshiping a false god if you're that way inclined), can't remember exactly what they reckoned the idea of the lady was but it was to do with welcoming visitors to Belfast and considering shes too far down from the docks, not on the right side for the bus station and nowhere near the airport, hence my gripe

it was an attempt at an Angel of the North type idea
