I use Advil painkillers and I am close to running out without a trip to the states in sight- Does anyone know whether I can get them in the UK. Thanks for any help tracking them down!

you can get them online at

I'm sure I've also seen them in Tesco but I could be wrong - I converted to Aleve a while back and find they are more effective.0 -
Hello Sarahjk21
I'll move your thread to the 'Health & Beauty' board.
Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere(please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. If you have any questions about this policy please email abuse@moneysavingexpert.com.

You do realise that Advil is just a brand name for ibuprofen?Gone ... or have I?0

There's nothing in any Advil product that can't be bought in generic form in this country.
Any superior effect you feel from Advil is pure placebo. How to find a dentist.
1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.0 -
Advil is amazing and I swore by it when I had chronic tooth ache last year, nothing else would shift the pain. I have just come back from America and had to buy some yet again to store in the cupboard 'just in case' hope you succeed in finding some!!Married 1st October 2015:heartpuls

As Toothsmith and dmg has said - advil is ibuprofen and can be bought for pennies in its generic form. Just check the labels of own brands and amke sure you are buying 200mg. I find the Asda gel capsules really hit the pain fast - even migraine pain0

Generic 200mg for me then- thanks all0
