    You really need to keep below the VAT threshold. Personally I would keep your businesses seperate, selling through either business as necessary to keep them below the threshold.
    Vat thresholds are based on turnover not profit, do you think you will sell between £68K and £136k a year between you if so then you need to keep the businesses seperate if over £136K then you will need to be VAT registered anyway.
    You really need to keep below that threshold as by the sounds of it virtually none of your expenditure has any VAT attached for you to reclaim, whereas if VAT registered all of your sales would have VAT attached.
