Also just read on hot.deals that they can still charge you the £5, and not refund you if they see fit, due to fradulant voucher use. Am worried now, because I have placed 4 orders with all the different companies. I dont want to be charged £20. If they do can I send back the stuff?? Help, I may be worrying over nothing, but the stuff will end up coming to £27!! I dont really want to pay that.Is a sufferer of SAD, so don't blame me, blame the depressing English weather!!!:beer:0

My understanding is that they can reclaim the discount months later if they want to. If they do that within the time period that you can still do a return, you can return it. If anyone is going to be hurt financially or just wouldn't want the item if the discount is later revoked, it's better not to use these codes as it's an iffy proposition. I bought a couple of items last year and used two codes for 15 quid off, but they were items I would've paid full price for. The discount never got revoked.0 -
I have just tracked all orders and all seem to be tracking fine (with the £5 refunded). I am new to these companies, never even thought of using them before.
If I have to pay the money back at a later date then fair enough, il have to but I really dont want to.
At the end of the day they still have had money off me, and now they have my details. Its a bit confusing that all 4 companies are 1 company. I thought they were all different??
I am a bit worried now, but cant cancel the order. Is a sufferer of SAD, so don't blame me, blame the depressing English weather!!!:beer:0 -

If you're really worried, you can just return the items (presuming there are free returns). Otherwise just enjoy them and don't let it ruin your day on the off chance the company charges you the 20 quid later.
I think many people never do get charged for the discount code amount, but some do. I'd probably just let it ride and keep the items, but it's all relative as to how much you need that 20 quid or if you would tend to get super stressed-out worrying about it. I wouldn't make a habit of using the codes if you're this worried though, as you don't want to be in for a huge amount of money if the codes are later denied. In this post, someone got charged 500 quid for the voucher codes she'd used over six months! In perspective, if you stop now at 20 quid worth of codes used, you won't be hurt too much if they want it back later!0 -
Note to self - when something looks too good to be true it normally is.
I didnt know that all these companies were 1, and didnt know they could take the money back.
Oh well I will leave as is, if they take the money back then so be it, however fingers crossed I slip through the net. I dont really use catalogues like this and wont in future but still thanks to the OP!Is a sufferer of SAD, so don't blame me, blame the depressing English weather!!!:beer:0 -
Anyone know when you complete the order, for example it say £1.50 to be charged to your card. Do they just take the £1.50 or do they take the £6.00 then refund the £5.00. Seems a long way round of doing it but some people have said this.
yes they charge full and then refund you, i have had that with 2 purchases this week, i'm not risking buying anything else just in case they do take the £5 back at a later date as there is nothing i really need from them and i hate the hassle of returning things. I purchased the atlanta duvet set and had i seen it in person i wouldn't have bought it but i guess you can not complain at the price.0 -
I have never had a problem with any of these firms reclaiming discounts, they do take the full amount if you pay by debit/credit card, but they refund the dsicount back onto your card within a couple of days - it actully got refunded into my bank before they took the payment this week!" If cats could speak they would lie! "0
