Filling out the SOA

Filling out my SOA, should i include my water bill in this in regards to my creditors, i think it's about hundred and something, is that allowed? if so will the water company cut me off? also are there guide lines as to what the OR views as reasonable living costs?...thanks.

Think you have confused two different things Markbass.

    * Can you include your water bill in your petition for bankruptcy? Yes you can but be aware that some water companies will install a water meter for future bills.

    * There are guidelines but they are out of date - you should complete your SOA based on what you actually spend and we will help you to see if there are things you need that are missing.

You do pay them yourself - the meter just measures exactly how much water you use.

Unfortunatly you won't have that choice, it is a debt and when you go BR all your debts are included in your BR whether you list them or not.

Not all water companies go to meter when you go to BR so you may be fine.

So they would be aware of my pending water bill regardless of whether i listed it or not?

Not all OR's but most do contact utilities to inform them of your BR. Why would you want to pay the debt if you don't have to? On your SoA you would only be able to put down what it should be and not what it is with the debt, how will you find the extra? Also you would be breaking the law, giving a creditor preference over other creditors and the OR will not look kindly on that and could go in to your affairs a lot more thoughrally than you want him to.
