I"d like to know if anyone else has done the same as I"m sure we"re not the only ones. Many thanks for reading this and hope you can help.

To be honest, I don't think you're in the right place if you're looking for people to say:

"Yes, order a load of goods from the catalogue company when you have no intention of paying for them."

It's completely unethical, and I think that's likely to get people's backs up. Sorry if that's not the answer you were looking for.
If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.

OMG why would you do this? Is it a wind up?

You're going into a DMP so you're thinking of getting into more debt? Just so you can buy some pretty clothes? You do know you have to pay it all back, plus interest and charges possibly?

Good luck to you with your DMP, with an attitude like this, you're going to need it.

My credit limit was maxed on my catalogue a good few months before I put it on my DMP, but it was actually being paid. The last item was ordered a couple of months before putting it on the DMP, and in theory was paid for before I entered the account onto the DMP.
I feel guilty about having stuff I technically didnt pay for and would send back if I could! Dont do it.
    Its immoral if nothing else.

  • You must be insane! Why would someone already in debt to the extent of having to do a DMP want to add more misery to their life by maxing out catalouges, for a very short term, wow look new goodies? Your temp fix of scamming the catalogues will be short fixed once you enter the DMP and have creditors phoning you at home and work constantly and having the threat of Court action against you etc. Do you understand what a DMP is? Have you read these forums about the hassles people are suffering on DMP's? About interest and charges NOT BEING FROZEN? You have to repay the money, you will be charged interest and charges and your debt will rise. One creditor may freeze all and anthoer won't. It's not plain sailing. I wish I was not in debt and having to do a DMP. I would love a day where I don't think about what I owe or what hate mail is waiting for me when I get home. I am so glad I cannot add to my debt. At times of course, I miss having a credit card, especially when emergencies happen but am also relieved I don't when I see that lovely little black dress saying buy me, I am only £60. Am glad those days are behind me. If someone offered me a card tomorrow and said here spend it all, I would not as tempting as it would be. Please do not do it. You will be thankful you never once you start your DMP and all the creditors are chasing you and refusing your payments. Also, it is illegal to buy goods knowing you can't afford to repay it.
