Angry about asset valuations

AKA Poms and Property Prices

Lots of posters on this board get very cross about other people disagreeing with them about how much a house might be worth at some point in the future.

I experienced some negitivity when I first posted on here (some time ago now) and suggested that house prices might not rise indefinitely.

Now I get it in the neck for suggesting that house prices might have further to fall and also that house prices aren't going to fall as much as some imagine.

So to all the angry people out there, do you also get so upset about the possible future value of shares in Vodaphone or whatever?

I would guess its mostly because people need a house so have a vested interest, i frankly couldnt care what the share prices do.

Hell my companys shares are substantially lower than they were a couple of years ago, the upper management seem to think its a disaster, I dont give a monkeys as we are still making a 30% margin and I dont have share options.

People care about whats in their interest.

Provided I keep my job, and therefore my ability to pay my mortgage, I'm not terribly fussed what someone thinks my home is 'worth' - if I had to sell, I expect at present I would get less than I paid for it 5 years ago. As I've no intention of selling, it's money-worth is academic. To me it's a home I love and the roof over my head, so from that respect, priceless! (And for all else, there's mastercard!)
