You're right - it is and I am so glad that I have been off it for nearly 3 years now but as a lone parent you have to do what it right for your family at the time and sometimes that is not working until a later period.

also you would need to be aware that your entitlement to IS will cease and you would be expected to move onto JSA so this would only be a short term 'fix'
